Industrial Grade Environment Friendly Flame Retardant APP Ammonium Polyphosphate CAS 68333-79-9

Ammonium polyphosphate appears as a white powder, nearly neutral, can be mixed with any other substance, but does not have chemical changes. Short chain (n≤20) ammonium polyphosphate is water soluble, long chain (n>20) ammonium polyphosphate is insoluble in water. According to its degree of polymerization, ammonium polyphosphate can be divided into oligomerization, medium polymerization and high polymerization. The greater the degree of polymerization, the smaller the water solubility. According to its structure, it can be divided into crystalline type and amorphous type. Crystallized ammonium polyphosphate is water insoluble and long chain polyphosphate.

Ammonium polyphosphate appears as a white powder and is a polyphosphate containing N and P. According to the degree of polymerization, it can be divided into oligomerization, medium polymerization and high polymerization. When the degree of polymerization is below 20, it is called oligomerization, which is water soluble. When the degree of polymerization is above 50, it is called high polymerization, which can be used as flame retardant.

Application


Ammonium polyphosphate can be used in textile coating, intumescent fireproof coatings and thermoset resins, such as polyurethane, UP resin and epoxy resin. It can also be used in the retardant of fiber, wood, rubber and plastic products. Due to its high molecular weight(n>1000) and good heat stability, APP can be used as main ingredient of expanding retardant thermoplastic.




Ammonium Polyphosphate Usage


Ammonium polyphosphate is a widely used chemical substance, and its uses are mainly focused on the following aspects:


1. Fertiliser additives: as a nitrogenous fertiliser, ammonium polyphosphate can be directly absorbed and utilised by the plant root system, increasing the nitrogen content of the plant and promoting plant growth and development. In addition, it can improve soil properties and enhance the microbial vitality of soil, which is beneficial to the growth of crops.

2. Alleviate heavy metal pollution: Ammonium polyphosphate can also alleviate medium heavy metal pollution, thus promoting the growth of vegetation and improving the ecosystem.

3. Industrial applications: In the industrial field, ammonium polyphosphate has a wide range of applications, such as the manufacture of powder metallurgy, ceramics, composite materials, coatings, plastics, rubber, pigments, dyes, polymers and so on.

4. Disinfectant and cleaning agent: Ammonium polyphosphate can also be used as a disinfectant and cleaning agent, for example, it can be used to disinfect pools or as a cleaning agent for dust and dirt.
